    Job Description

    Deliver physical therapy services through evaluation of patient needs, goal determination, and development of treatment plans according to the principles and practices of physical therapy.

    Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

    The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.

    1. Performs advanced, direct therapy services to patients in accordance with generally accepted physical therapy standards, State of Maryland Physical Therapy Practice Act, code of ethics, and departmental procedures. Records patient evaluations, re-evaluations and care provided in the medical record in accordance with departmental documentation standards.
    2. Assists leadership with interviewing, orienting, training and supervising rehabilitation services staff. Contributes to and/or completes performance evaluations and handles corrective actions. Supports an open and goal-oriented work environment with established clear and concise work procedures and productivity standards. Collaborates with leadership in identifying gaps and opportunities for professional development and advancement activities.
    3. Collaborates with leadership in identifying gaps and opportunities for program development, performance improvement and strategic organizational initiatives.
    4. Assists leadership in the identification and resolution of complex clinical and operational issues in order to assure high quality care, and efficient departmental operations. Facilitates a positive culture.
    5. Ensures interdisciplinary safe, patient-centered care and delivers excellent customer service
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
    2. Current licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Maryland is required.
    3. Five (5) year of related experience is required.
    4. Current ACLS or BCLS certification is required.

    Patient Safety

    Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department or unit patient safety initiatives.

    1. Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety.
    2. Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority.
    3. Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates the same to those in charge.
