Job Description

The Exercise Technician is responsible for providing and prioritizing therapeutic walks per physician order and secondarily providing patient education and activities of daily living (ADLs)’s when deemed competent.

Responsibilities & Tasks

1. Providing and prioritizing therapeutic walks per early mobility program.
2. Providing patient education and ADL’s when deemed competent
3. Establish an open line of communication with staff regarding patient condition and performance
4. In partnership with the clinical team, utilizes clinical data to provide an individualized daily mobility plan of care.
5. Adheres to infection control standards
6. Responds effectively in an emergency situation to address the patient’s immediate needs
7. Manages a patient’s anticipated or current educational needs in order to meet the needs outlined in the plan of care
8. Documents patient care following departmental policies and guidelines.

Qualifications

Education

• 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

• BLS Certification (Required)
• Exercise Specialist Cert-ACSM (Preferred)
