    Job Description

    ** IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR POSITION TITLE:** Manager, Cardiopulmonary Services

    ** SUMMARY:** Under moderate supervision, performs electroencephalograms.

    ** SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:** This job has no supervisory responsibility.

    1. Performs electrocardiogram and electroencephalogram procedures in compliance with hospital policy

    • Schedule patient appointments for test procedures.
    • Provides physicians with correct tracings and other required patient information for interpretation.

    2. Performs and analyzes routine electroencephalograms

    • Performs and records routine electroencephalograms in accordance with established procedures.
    • Maintain logs and files according to established procedures
    • Distributes test reports to physician offices

    3. Provides age specific appropriate care to infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients

    • Prepares and position patient for tracings, taking into consideration their age, height, weight and other specific needs

    4. Demonstrates accuracy in typing

    • Correspondence
    • Reports, messages, schedules

    5. Provides diagnostic testing within scope of practice

    • Uses policy and procedure to guide behavior

    8. Maintains equipment and test room areas

    • Maintains equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner according to established procedures; advises Director of equipment malfunctions.
    • Maintains testing rooms and work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner according to established procedure; stock linen and other supplies in appropriate areas.

Uses data, and the information derived from it, only in the execution of official duties, does not share computer passwords, understands authorized use of Civista Health, Inc. equipment and computer resources, reports information security related incidents, etc.

    • Reports occupational incidents to immediate supervisor, patient care supervisor or designee within 3 calendar days of an occurrence.

    Qualifications

    ** QUALIFICATIONS:** The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of the position.     ** EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:** To qualify for the position, the candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent; six months EEG experience with certification.

    ** CONDITIONS:** The new hire or transfer employee will remain within this job category for a probationary period of six months. With a satisfactory criteria based performance evaluation, the employee will advance to a regular status employee. If the evaluation is not satisfactory, the employee will be terminated.

    ** SKILLS & ABILITIES:**

    • The ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of all patient and departmental documents is required.

    ** LANGUAGE SKILLS:** Ability to read, analyze, interpret physician’s orders and other written communication methods of the health care team is essential. Ability to respond to customer inquiries or to those other members of the health care team must be present. The incumbent must demonstrate an ability to read and interpret age-specific data regarding patient conditions. He/she must demonstrate spoken English ability to communicate patient and family education in an age appropriate context.

    ** REASONING ABILITY:** Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts regarding performance improvement.

    ** PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** **** Will work in a clean, well lighted environment. The job requires pushing and pulling and lifting equipment weighing in excess of 50 pounds up to 25% of the time. Requires sitting approximately 75% of the time; requires walking and standing approximately 25% of the time. Potential for regular exposure to communicable diseases and/or blood and body substances and hazardous materials requiring the observance of Standard Precautions and safe handling practices.

    ** CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:**

    • BLS Certification required (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
    • Electroencephalogram (EEG) certification preferred.
