About the Program The UPMC Marketing/Communications UPMC Childrens Hospital of UPMC Summer Associates Program is an 11-week, paid internship. As a Summer Associate with this team, you will have the opportunity to get a glimpse into various Marketing/Communications areas within the team. Your daily tasks will have a big focus on items with media relations, social media, internal communications, clinical marketing activities, Foundation marketing, event help, and more! This work would include: Media Relations preparing press releases, media advisories, assisting at events, working on social media accounts for the hospital posting photos and videos at events, creating blog posts, writing patient stories, etc. Clinical Marketing assistance with new physician announcement cards, managing photo sessions, updating medical staff directory, website assistance, etc. Internal Communications develop content for internal communications, such as a weekly email newsletter (the Daily Extra), etc. Childrens Hospital Foundation Marketing marketing events, assisting with newsletter content and MORE! During your internship program, you will have the opportunity to network with UPMC Executives, give back to the Pittsburgh Community through Summer Associate service events, receive mentorship, enhance your skills with hands-on real-world experience and training, and most importantly, work on projects that make an impact on patient care while gaining knowledge on how we provide Life Changing Medicine. Qualifications Qualifications Current Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelors degree with a target graduation date between December 2018 and August 2020 required Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher required Preference will be given to candidates with excellent written/oral communication skills; Social media, photography skills and web experience; and a strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Availability to participate in the Summer Associates Program full-time from June to August 2019 for approximately 11 weeks with minimal absence (Yes, dont worry, you can still enjoy some summer vacation time!)
