The Certified Instrument Technician coordinates and collaborates the overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly and dispensing of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies needed for daily surgical procedures and related departments.
Required Skills
- Proficient in Hospital sterilization processes.
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation/tray assembly.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform mathematical calculations.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of English grammar and spelling.
Required Experience
A. WORK EXPERIENCE:
One year of sterile processing experience required or Certified Surgical Technician (CST) in an acute care setting or equivalent experience
B. EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Two years of college or technical school preferred.
- College or technical school degree preferred.
C. CERTIFICATION:
- Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
