General Summary
The Vice President, Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) provides strategic leadership to ensure excellence in quality, safety, and performance improvement across the organization. This role supports the Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in driving the hospital’s mission, advancing a culture of safety, data-driven decision-making, and regulatory compliance while fostering continuous improvement. The ACMO also contributes to key operational activities of the CMO office and collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders to achieve organizational goals.

Support for CMO Office Activities
Assist the CMO in strategic planning, operational oversight, and policy development.
Act as a key liaison between the CMO and other clinical/administrative leaders to ensure goal alignment.
Assist in the integration of physician engagement initiatives, interdisciplinary collaboration, and medical staff governance activities.
Collaborate on the academic health mission of the organization including graduate medical education and clinical research.
Collaborate with the VP Physician Services in the integration of medical group services and physician contracting as it supports the quality and safety of care delivery.
