    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Residency Coordinator.

    In this role, the successful candidate The Residency Coordinator for Internal Medicine will be responsible for the following activities of all residencies approved by in the facility: to oversee and maintain all residents educational needs, management responsibilities, departmental requirements, evaluation and record keeping requirements to assure that all requirements set forth by the ACGME are met. More specifically the coordinator is responsible to assure that each individual resident is being provided with the proper curriculum, lecture schedule, didactic learning expectations and manuals with the Director(s) of Medical Education and Program Director on an ongoing basis. Oversee the organization and scheduling of the resident lecture series and the resident and student rotation schedule. Assure that each resident follows the required schedules, meet the standards of every rotation and attends daily scheduled lectures while on rotations. Develop, organize and oversee resident schedules in collaboration with the Program Directors and DME to assure ACGME resident requirements are met. Review daily attendance and resolve any unexcused absences. Recommend new or corrected evaluation and educational tools, maintain and assure written and/or electronic documentation of the residents performance and provide improvement plans and follow-up evaluations. Assure that reading assignments, presentations, scholarly work including research and other ACGME requirements for residents are being completed timely and accurately. Critique, evaluate and track educational tools with corrective action plans as needed. Assist with the review and resolution any resident misconduct issues and unexcused absences in conjunction with the Program Director. Attend national and local educational conferences and recruitment activities pertinent to the responsibilities of the residency coordinator and implement acquired knowledge in the programs. Assure that new advances and changes with the ACGME standards are met at all times. Maintain payroll for residents and department staff, maintain ERAS, NRMP, Medtrics as per the Program Director and DIO. Maintain and organized all medical student records, evaluations, rotations and orientation.
    As CME Coordinator will be responsible to organize and schedule routine lecture series for the Continuing Medical Education of the organizations medical staff that includes Medical Grand Rounds, Tumor Boards, and other lecture series. Coordinate room-setups, refreshments and payments for all programs. Manage calls and follow-up requirements for residency program, student program and CME program.

    * Assist with resident remediation plans
    * Supports both residency and organization’s patient care standards, core competency goals and objectives.
    1. **Leadership, Administrative Responsibilities and Skills**
    * Enthusiastically accepts leadership opportunities that will promote the goals and objectives of the training program and medical education department.
    * Demonstrates leadership by example and willingness to teach others leadership skills.
    * Participates as a team player in all roles assigned.
    * Demonstrates a well organized administrative responsibility that promotes the ACGME, GME and Organizations strategic plans.
    * Maintains well organized and legible resident files, evaluations and tracking systems required by the accrediting agencies.
    * Organize and schedule medical student rotations timely.
    * Schedule and participate in the annual resident interview process.
    * Organize the yearly resident orientation
    * Prepare needed material for recruiting activities.
    1. **Residency Coordinator Responsibilities**
    * Participates in the creation of well organized, user friendly and adaptable resident manuals that reflect all aspects of the core competency plan
    * Demonstrates knowledge and implementation of the ongoing updates within the regulatory agency
    * Participates in activities for resident remediation that demonstrates corrective actions that are productive
    * Assures that accepted evaluations and tracking methods that promote learning are implemented
    * Promotes that utilization of tracking methods within the curricular process that promote improvements and reportable outcome measure
    1. **Resident Recruitment & National Education Conferences**
    * Assures review of each candidates application and schedules all candidates interviews with both departments
    * Demonstrates well organized interview skills during resident recruiting with written evaluations tools in place
    * Actively participates in recruiting activities utilizing many methods including web-based, brochures, recruiting boards and public speaking engagements
    * Demonstrated a link between recruiting activities and matches within the ERAS and NMS systems
    * Promotes and creates recruiting opportunities for the institution and department through residency options such as Opportunities, TIVRA, etc.
    * Provides updates to Program Directors, Faculty and the DME from AOA national conferences
    * Always portrays oneself in a poised, professional and respectful demeanor that is non-confrontational and non-exploitive while recruiting and representing the department.
    1. **CME Coordinator**
    * Prepare all required CME paperwork
    * Correspond with Medical Director for CME for recruitment of presenters for CME activity within the institution.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    Eagerness to learn requirements of the ACGME accreditation process

    Working knowledge of the ACGME requirements a plus

    Willingness to learn about residency training requirements and recruiting processes

    Basic knowledge, or willingness to learn ERAS, NRMP, ERAS, and Residency Management Software

    Experience with recruiting methods and activities a plus

    Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint programs

    Strong organizational skills

    Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 - $70,341.89 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
