Position Description - Neurobiology Intern, Summer 2018 LocationCambridge, MA -Wave Life Sciences USA seeks a highly motivated, energetic, and results-driven biology or neuroscience major to join its team of biologists in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The interns role will primarily consist of laboratory work in support of the biology teams efforts to advance therapeutic programs and discovery research platforms. The candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing experiments, and contribute to all levels of in vitro and in vivo discovery research to support development of optimized nucleic acid therapies in multiple disease areas. Prior experience in a biology research lab is preferred, but not required. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES : Assist in the design of experimental plans Troubleshoot and optimize experiments under supervision Cell culture, mRNA extraction and quantification, immunofluorescence, animal tissue processing Communicate data and ideas, both orally and in written form, within multidisciplinary teams Ability to take detailed notes and observations about the experimental design, set-up, and results and to record these experimental results in both electronic notebook and presentation format EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Working towards a Bachelors degree in biology, neuroscience, or a related discipline At least two years of an undergraduate education completed within biology- or neuroscience-related discipline Must have successfully completed a biology-focused course with lab component. Must possess excellent oral and written skills.
