Responsibilities Recovery Room PACU Registered NurseAs a Recovery Room PACU Registered Nurse at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, you will be able to work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team in collaboration with our surgeons, anesthesiologists and other healthcare personnel to provide optimal outcomes for our patients. Our nurses are highly skilled and provide expertise in a variety of specialty areas. We play a crucial role in the care of patients across service lines which include but not limited to, Neuroscience (i.e. craniotomy), Interventional Neuroscience (i.e. strokes, aneurysms), Trauma, Orthopedic Surgery, Vascular, Bariatric, General Surgery, General Surgery Oncology, Pediatric, Womens Center, Spine, Thoracic and services for patients requiring post anesthesia care. The Recovery Room PACU is staffed 24/7 to accommodate the needs of the community.Perianesthesia Services at WellStar Kennestone Hospital offers a variety of experiences and a range of opportunities for professional growth and development which includes ACLS and PALS certifications. Our nurses have a voice in their practice and participate in Shared Leadership to enhance bedside care and promote evidence based practice. We support the achievement of a national specialty certification, such as Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN®) and the Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA®). The Recovery Room PACU Registered Nurse (RN) is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.Record patients' medical information and vital signs.Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a unit.Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs.Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments. Qualifications Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing: Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred. Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia; Must have a current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment in position. National certification in area of specialty preferred. Required Minimum Experience: At least one year experience with PACU direct patient care preferred.
