    MAJOR FUNCTION:  The Maintenance Tech II works in the Facilities Department, Project Management and Construction Services Division. The Maintenance Tech II primary function is to assist in the remodel or renovation of Buildings and equipment. Must have sufficient knowledge of and be able to perform/inspect any carpentry/masonry, electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, Building Automation Systems, elevators, doors & locks and miscellaneous concrete work. Operates and maintains vehicles including tractors, fork lifts, boom lifts, loaders, large trucks, and motorized carts.  Supervises temporary help, inspects outside contractor’s work to ensure it is in accordance with the work order and/or contract. Operates computer inputting data for preventive maintenance program, costs, hours and work performed into the CMMS system.  Assists Construction Manager with blueprints, Construction Project Management and miscellaneous duties as assigned. 

     

    MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency diploma, and four years of experience in at least three of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, electronics, carpentry/masonry, AutoCAD or equivalent Computer Aided Drafting / Drawing Program.

     

    SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:  Ability to work safely and proficiently in the areas of electrical, plumbing, carpentry/masonry, HVAC, and electronics. Ability to follow written and oral instructions as directed. Ability to work independently and make independent judgments. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, work outdoors in all types of weather and temperatures. Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds or more. Ability to drive and maintain vehicles, tractors, trucks, and equipment. Ability to use a two-way communication radio.

  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university.

    EXPERIENCE: 9 years experience in engineering program management with 5 years of management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  2-5 years with BA/BS.

    Must have experience in Defense Industry.

     

    OTHER:   Background suitable to support a Secret clearance.
