    Position: Youth Care Worker

    Department: Homeless Youth

    Location: Bellwood, Illinois.

    ****Schedule:
    We currently have three different shift options available:

    • Weekends Only: Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

    • Evening Shift A: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 4:00 P.M. – 12:00 A.M.

    • Evening Shift B: Tuesday and Thursday, 4:00 P.M. – 12:00 A.M.

    Position Overview

    Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Youth Care Worker assists adolescent wards of the state with preparing for adulthood by providing counseling, employment assistance, and educational/life skills training. A Youth Care Worker refers residents for services, as needed; collaborates with case managers in reviewing and planning individual service plans; and provides transportation, as needed.

    Knowledge of DCFS policies, procedures, and regulations is an asset.

    Qualifications:

    • Associate degree or at least 60 hours of college credits
    • One year of experience working with high-risk adolescents, preferably in a residential setting
    • 3 years of experience working with youths at risk without a college degree
    • Valid driver's license
    • Clear driving record
    • Reliable transportation (proof of insurance may be needed)
