    Location: Chicago Lawn Area

    Schedule: Part-time - 20 hours/week, mornings and nights.

    Position Overview:

    Under the direction of the Director of Programs and Operations, the Redeploy Driver will provide transportation services picking up youth and transporting them to programming. Produce positive attitudes and engage with teenagers with respect to and from the facility.

    • Must be 25 years or older
    • Responsible for transporting clients in a timely manner to and from the destination.
    • Arrive to pickup and drop-off locations on time.
    • Use navigation applications to determine routes.
    • Ensure the vehicle is always fueled and checked for safety hazards.
    • Professionally interact with clients.
    • Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed.
    • Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date.
    • Research and plan for traffic.

    1. Groups: Transport groups of youth to programming sessions
    2. Recreational Activities: Assist in the development and execution of recreational activities a minimum of one day per week.
    3. Transportation: Transport youth to and from utilizing Youth Outreach Services vehicles.
    4. Court: Transport youth to and from court services.
    5. Supervision: Participate in team and individual supervision meetings as necessary.
    6. External relationships: Maintain weekly contact with program managers. Maintain contact or establish relationships with referral sources beneficial to the client and/or agency.
    7. HIPPA: Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
    8. Quality Improvement: Participate in ongoing quality improvements efforts of the agency.
    9. Diversity/Cultural Awareness: Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and constituencies.
    10. Other Functions: Make sure mileage is documented, make sure van receives oil changes, keep van cleaned and washed.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the job.

    The employee is frequently required to sit and use their hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

    The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

    The work environment will include transporting youth in a 6-passenger van. Additionally, the work site will include work at a satellite location.

    The Redeploy works with at-risk juvenile delinquents who are referred by the courts. Other challenges are picking up and dropping off youth for Redeploy programming. All Redeploy workers must be able to facilitate groups, monitor clients during recreational activities, and prepare food during dinner time.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with at-risk juveniles preferred. Experience working with youth involved in the juvenile justice system is preferred. Valid Illinois driver's license. Must have three-plus years of transportation driving experience. Must be 25 years of age

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A valid Illinois driver's license is required.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: **** Ownership of or ready access to an insured vehicle and maintaining a clean driving record are required.
