All About Kids' comprehensive offering of services and programs addresses all facets of a child's development and allows for better team coordinated and individualized treatment. We provide early intervention, preschool, school age, and autism services privately as well as through the New York State public funded EI, CPSE, and District CSE programs including the NYCDOE.     ALL ABOUT THE JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
    • New York State Certified Special Education Teacher (Birth-2nd Grade certified)
    • 2 Years' experience as a lead teacher in a classroom setting
    • 1 year of relevant ABA Experience with toddlers
    • 1 year of experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum
    • Board - Certified Behavioral Analysist (BCBA a plus

    ALL ABOUT THE JOB

    OVERVIEW

    All About Kids is seeking an enthusiastic New York State Certified Special Education Teacher (Birth - 2nd grade) or Board - Certified Behavioral Analysist (BCBA) with a strong background in Early Childhood Education and experience with ABA Therapy that shares in our mission to bring quality services to children with autism. We are seeking a qualified teacher to run our unique center-based ABA class which offers intense 1:1 discreet trial instruction with experienced professionals. We service toddlers that have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as other global delays using child specific instruction. The canddidate must be able to lead, run individualized trials and guide the Teacher Assistants.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • Lead activities and provide direct instruction to children in accordance with their Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
    • Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
    • Document and maintain accurate records of services provided; submitting session notes, evaluations and descriptive progress reports within the agency's established deadline.
    • Engage children by incorporating sensory integration, gross motor movement, communication and social skills.
    • Ensure that the materials are age appropriate, the room remains organized and toys have been cleaned after each use.
    • Instruct Teacher Assistant (TA's) on teaching procedures and direct implementation of DDT services being delivered during the session.
    • Adhere to program compliance, and Supervisor requests.
    • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State and Federal regulations).
    • Update program books on a regular basis.
    • Speak professionally to parents providing them with feedback regarding progress made during the session as well as strategies to carry over with the child.
    • Communicate effectively with parents, supervisors, and all staff.
    • Provide necessary testing to evaluate child
    • Interpret testing and use the information to accompany IFSP goals.
    • Create materials to be used with child during session.
    • Devise lesson plans to conduct group activities and group instruction / socialization.
    • Run goals with child using creativity and a variety of materials.
    • Provide Natural Environment Teaching (NET) to children daily.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

    • Supervise TA's daily work duties to ensure that the children's individualized needs are being met and the environment is clean and organized on a daily basis.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    This position may require at the employee's discretion to lift a toddler at various weights. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
