    ALL ABOUT THE JOB

    Special Education Teachers in our Early Intervention (birth to 3 years old) and/or Preschool programs (3 to 5 years old) will implement various techniques to provide development of cognitive, communication, social and emotional, adaptive, fine and gross motor skills, within home, school, and other community settings. Special Education teachers will collaborate with other disciplines in order to develop and address goals and outcomes based on each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (Early Intervention) or Individualized Educational Program (Preschool). This includes providing families with information, coaching, and educating families and school staff on different intervention strategies to help foster each child's carry over of skills in daily home and school routines. Each teacher will be responsible for maintain appropriate documentation and collection of data on interventions.

    This job requires you to travel to a child's home, school or daycare. Select the cases in locations that work best for you as well as create your own schedule. We serve all of Long Island, all five boroughs of New York City, Westchester, Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster County and more!

    ALL ABOUT THE JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • BA/MA/MS and New York State certification in ANY ONE of the following areas:
      • Special Education Permanent Certificate
      • Students with Disabilities, Birth to 2nd Grade
      • Teacher for Students with Speech and Language Disabilities, TSSLD
      • Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped, TSHH
      • Teachers of the Deaf/Vision
