    ------------ Intern - Buyer Internship Tweet Apply with LinkedIn Apply now * * Posted: May 7, 2018 * Part-Time * * Las Vegas, NV, United States Job Details Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Buyer Intern will directly support the Procurement department in their daily responsibilities and operational dealings of Allegiant Travel Company.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Update, correct and maintain a database for the GSE Equipment, Ground Handling, Deicing services and rates concluded with the different vendors as per the agreements and contracts concluded by the airline. * Required to verify and update all current and past data pertaining to GSE Equipment into Contract Management tool using MS Access and amend the relevant Attachment A agreement documents. * Assist Procurement Department in preparing different slides for the presentations and carrying out different studies and analysis on various issues being faced by the airline. * Communicate with Accounting and vendors to understand and resolve operational issues thru email and phone calls. * Create a log of all outstanding issues and follow up with vendors on their resolution. * Other relevant duties as assigned  TERM OF INTERNSHIP: * May 2018 until the end of September 2018 * Interns may work up to 40 hours per week * Internship will be paid at $15.00 per hour * Interns, their spouse, parents, domestic partner, or travel companion & any eligible unmarried dependent children under the age of 21, of the intern will receive unlimited, space available, individual flight privileges on Allegiant Air (all fees waived) for the term of the internship * No medical or similar benefits are provided INTERACTIONS:  The person will be required to interface with the Manager GS Equipment, accounting, FP&A and different Service Providers to resolve and address various accounting and operational issues at various locations as per the guidance provided by Director Procurement Strategy.  REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: * Sound knowledge of MS Access, Data base management, MS Excel and MS Power Point. * Self starter, problem solver and possess creativity to help in reducing the workload of data entry. * Excellent verbal and written communication skill essential * Innate interest in airline revenue management and keen motivation to learn indispensible * Sound problem solving and structured yet unconstrained thinking capability valuable * Must pass a background check * Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986 EDUCATION: * Must be enrolled in or have graduated within the past twelve (12) months from an accredited college or university * Preference given to candidates that will have completed at least two (2) years of university-level coursework.
