    Job Description

    The Sundeck Restaurant Manager is responsible for day-to-day operation of the Sundeck Cafeteria to include the bar, dining area, coffee bar, servery. Will also maintain cost percentages, service levels in regard to established standards, physical upkeep and cleanliness of the facility and promotes positive guest feedback.

    The budgeted salary range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Responsible for general operation of cafeteria on a day-to-day basis.
    • Responsible for managing, coaching, correcting employees, maintaining a positive atmosphere, and upholding standards.
    • Responsible for upkeep and cleanliness of facility.
    • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
    • Ensures employee’s needs are met and responsibilities are being performed.
    • Ensures employees are punctual and in proper uniform daily.
    • Reconciles daily receipts and submits to accounting department daily.
    • Drop cash daily for cash sales.
    • Ensures that bank is stocked for cashier drawers daily.
    • Ensures bar area is open on time with all products available.
    • Oversee daily closing and cleaning procedures.
    • Ensure Sundeck Caretakers are given tasks and feedback on the cleanliness of the building and grounds.
    • Ensure snow and ice removal is performed to an adequate level to ensure guest and staff safety.
    • Reviews and edits payroll in “Kronos” and ensures expeditious submittal to Payroll at the end of each pay period.
    • Reviews, edits, and submits payroll for contract labor employees through “Timetrax”
    • Produce a weekly schedule for Sundeck staff according to budget and forecasted business levels.
    • Assist in cashiering duties including checking guests out on the cash registers and kiosks.
    • Troubleshoot issues with kiosks and registers.
    • Troubleshoot maintenance issues as they occur around the restaurant and grounds.
    • Assist back-of-house employees and chefs as needed.
    • Complete and submit accurate monthly inventory.
    • Responsible for properly coding and submitting invoices for ordered product.
    • Responsible for ordering, receiving, delivery, and rotation of product.
    • Reacts to guests needs when requested and maintains guest satisfaction.
    • Assists in maintaining and updating product selection for candy and beverages.
    • Ensures all product is stocked in servery before service daily.
    • Dictates sufficient staffing levels based on volume levels.
    • Reports maintenance needs to Sundeck Building Engineer as needed.
    • Enforces standards, procedures and policies in accordance with established standards.
    • Conducts daily lineup meeting with staff prior to service.
    • Performs daily walkthrough of interior and exterior of facility.
    • Communicates with chef regarding quality, timing, presentation and guest feedback.
    • Supervisory responsibility including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, assigning and scheduling work, monitoring and controlling work, progressive discipline, performance evaluation (to confer with GM)
    • Ensures facility and product is secure and properly set at days end.
    • Delegates daily sweeps of the facility grounds inside and out for miscellaneous debris and trash.
    • Ensures proper arrangement of deck and patio furniture.
    • Assists with cashier and stocking duties when business volumes dictate.
    • Responsible for sweeping the building at the end of day to ensure staff ang guests do not remain.
    • Responsible for locking building at end of day to ensure a secure space.
    • Builds and maintains excellent relations with other departments including TLN Banquets, AspenX, and AspenX Mountain Club.
    • Holds other departments accountable for how they leave shared spaces.

    Additional Job Duties:

    • Makes General Manager aware of guest’s comments and complaints
    • Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as established in grooming standards
    • Participates in reconciling of inventories
    • Is familiar with facility fire and safety procedures
    • Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by superiors
    • Complete tasks and projects delegated by General Manager and assists other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Hospitality Management college degree preferred
    • 2 Years’ experience in a Food Service Management role
    • InfoGenesis knowledge is preferred
    • Knowledge of food and cooking methods
    • Ability to work well with people and promote growth
    • Strong organizational and supervisory skills
    • Bartending Skills preferred
    • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license, driving on rocky dirt roads is sometimes required
    • Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred
    • Basic knowledge of purchasing, scheduling, and payroll systems

    Supervision Given and Received
    Supervision Given: Exercises general supervision over Sundeck Staff. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    Supervision Received: Works under general supervision of the Sundeck General Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
