Department Internship Program is designed to give a law student a realistic and practical view of practicing law at a Fortune 500 company. The work the intern will handle will involve real projects for our clients and attorneys including, but not limited to, drafting of contracts, research and preparation of memoranda, and review of pleadings and motions. We also will provide rewarding opportunities, as available, to attend deal negotiations and strategy sessions, trials and depositions, administrative proceedings, labor arbitrations and management meetings. We will strive to give the intern experiences in numerous areas of our practice including transactional, corporate, litigation, regulatory compliance, real estate development, labor & employment, entertainment, casino/hotel operations, intellectual property, retail, marketing and many others. We also will arrange social events to enable the student and the attorneys to get to know one another in a more relaxed setting. Candidates with some prior work experience in a business setting are encouraged to apply. One internship position is available. *This internship is part of the Corporate Summer Internship Program (CSIP), which is a joint initiative of the William S. Boyd School of Law and the Nevada Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. Participating employers will provide the interns with exposure to the wide array of legal issues facing in house counsel by assigning students actual projects designed to build practical legal skills. Legal research, drafting, shadowing, mentoring, and performance feedback are core components of the internship program. Interns will complete the work in the employer's offices under the supervision of the employer. This is not a placement program intended to lead to postgraduate employment.
