    PURPOSE: The Coordinator of a CSC dance program has one “main thing” to do – grow the program. We work together to increase enrollment, improve the staffing, develop new ideas, and recognize success. We do that best when we making teaching our #1 priority. Following parameters established by CSC and its many years in the business of youth sports and activities, you will also accomplish this when you bring your ideas, experiences, and passion for dance to CSC.     HOURS PER WEEK: This is an hourly, 15-20 hours to start. Need to be available Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday

    QUALIFICATIONS: Background in dance participation. At least 5 years of proven dance instruction with kids. Working knowledge of basic child development (ages 2 and up). Must be high energy and excited about working with young kids. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

    TRAINING/EDUCATION:An undergraduate BS in Dance or its equivalent would be preferred.

    Completed certification for CPR/First Aid, by the ARC or the AHA, or the equivalent (required within the first 30 days if not already certified.)

    SKILLS:Must have proven leadership skills dealing with children; strong organizational skills, and be outgoing and energetic. Enjoys working in a team environment with many part-time staff to supervise and direct to success.The right candidate must show a strong understanding of gross motor concepts, basic dance development, and all associated dance program terminology.The right candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication skills with peers, office staff and management, students and their parents.Computer knowledge and experience in word, excel, and publisher is preferred.You will be provided training and support on our software systems for class management and skills development.

    DUTIES:

    • The #1 responsibility of every Coordinator at CSC is to promote the dance program and increase enrollment. Grow the program.
    • Teach kids!!! Instructing all classes or groups as assigned and needed.
    • Promote, and demonstrate safe and developmentally appropriate learning.
    • Assist the Program Manager with dance curriculum implementation and schedules, lesson planning, and recital preparation.
    • Work closely with the Site Manager in the day-to-day operational needs. (budget, studio maintenance, staffing issues, schedule planning, etc.) You will become a ‘core team’ member of leaders at this location.
    • Assist in interviewing, training new dance staff, evaluating instructors and completing instructor reviews.
    • Learn and know dance terminology and CSC repertoire.
    • Act as a primary teaching resource, provide training and mentoring for dance instructors.
    • Lead at least 2 CSCU’s a year. (internal staff training classes.)
    • Create and follow your own lesson plan for each of your classes.
    • Review instructor lesson plans bi-weekly and offer necessary feedback.
    • Regularly communicate with parents in all dances classes and staff about any special events.
    • Update bulletin boards with pictures and current information.
    • Maintain dance studios. This includes but is not limited to: clean to the corners, floor maintenance,
    • CDs, Props, iPod, music, staff areas. (organize, clean, and replace shabby looking items)
    • Choreograph and teach dance routines for the yearly performances in December and June.
    • Observe all class recital routines and give feedback.
    • Attend community events when asked and available.
    • Work with Program Manager and Site Managers to coordinate, participate in, and/or lead at least one special event each year for your program (Christmas in the park, Dancing on the Ave, etc.)
    • Attend Coordinator and Core meetings when required other meetings when requested.
    • Support other CSC programs and Coordinators. Working closely with other site’s dance coordinator.
    • Maintain accurate roll on a daily basis and check that all dance instructors are also doing so.
    • Maintain great communication with all staff.
    • Coordinate & support recitals for your site (see below)
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Recital duties

    1. Help Choose a theme

    2. Work with other Site Coordinators on the general plan

    3. Follow CSC process to order costumes pending recital requirements

    a. Work with instructors to determine costumes

    b. Prepare and complete sizing sheets for all classes

    c. Input all costumes into CSC database

    1. Pick, and edit music and have it ready for instructors

    a. Upload music to iPod and make back up show cd

    1. Split shows and create show order

    a. Plan and support the dress rehearsal

    1. Complete show order and the inside of program

    2. Recital communication to staff, students, and parents

    3. Work with Christopher Brown to get information up on the web site

    4. Work with Program and Site manager to have the proper staff or parent help for the show

    5. Lead your show and help other sites as needed

    6. Event set up and clean up
