    THIS POSITION IS A PART-TIME POSITION WHICH COULD EVENTUALLY LEAD TO A LEADERSHIP POSITION FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE.  GENERALLY SUMMER HIRING IS FOCUSED ON CAMP SUPPORT AND TRAINING FOR THE FALL START.  ANY OTHER TIME OF THE YEAR IS GENERAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMMEDIATE NEED.  THIS POSITION MAY BE PLACED IN ANY OF 3 LOCATIONS WHERE WE OPERATE DANCE STUDIOS.  THE PRIMARY GOAL IN OUR TEACHING IS PREPARE FOR OUR SHOWS AND RECITALS AND ADVANCE THE OPPORTUNITIES TO PERFORM.

    HOURS PER WEEK: 2-29 hours to start

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Instructors must be a minimum of 16 years of age and have the ability to get a valid work permit.  We also require all new staff to be fully vaccinated from Covid-19.  Background and experience in dance is required. No teaching experience is required, but it is preferred. Willingness to learn, study, and engage in our teaching programs is required. Must be high energy and excited about working with young kids.  The more diverse your experience in various disciplines, the better.

    TRAINING/EDUCATION: A BS in Dance or its equivalent would be very helpful, but is not required. As a condition of continued employment CPR/FA certification must be completed, or be scheduled to be completed, within the first 30 days of employment and remain current.

    SKILLS: Excellent communication skills; leadership skills dealing with children; organizational skills, outgoing and energetic. Work well in a team environment.

    DUTIES:

    • Teach kids!!!
    • Promote, and demonstrate, safe and developmentally appropriate learning.
    • Learn and know dance terminology and CSC repertoire.
    • Create/follow a lesson plan for every class.
    • Maintain level development progress of assigned classes/students
    • Maintain accurate roll on a daily basis (after every class).
    • Regularly communicate with parents in your classes about their students’ progress and any special events that require promotion.
    • Choreograph and teach dance routines for the yearly performances held in winter and summer and assist the Dance Coordinator with dress rehearsals and the recital performances. You are required to attend and assist with recitals as assigned.
    • Work with Dance Coordinator & Site Manager on program development.
    • Assist with facility maintenance and cleanliness as required.
    • Attend community events when asked and available.
    • Attend meetings when requested.
    • Other duties as assigned.
