    Job Description

    Provides accounting and asset management (financial) support to the SVP of Finance and Administration of Carr Companies and performs confidential and administrative duties as requested.  The Accounting Manager will be responsible for accounting, finance and operational/administrative support of Carr Companies and its Subsidiaries and Affiliates.

    DUTIES:

    -        Ensure financial records and maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

    -        Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenue and expenses.

    -        Prepare monthly workpapers and bank reconciliations which support the financial actively and balances reflected in the General Ledger; review same from accounting staff.

    -        Work closely with the leadership team to monitor and modify all accounting systems so that they are performing an optimum efficiency and reporting outputs are acceptable to senior management.

    -        Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.

    -        Create, modify, and maintain accounting policy and procedures manual to ensure compliance with company processes/adherence to GAAP. 

    -        Complete special projects as assigned. 

    CORE COMPETENCIES/SKILL SETS:

    -        Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

    -        Knowledgeable of applicable laws, codes and regulations as it related to accounting.

    -        Proficient is the use of technology including accounting software, Microsoft platform, etc.

    -        Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. 

    -        Ability to think strategically, resourcefully, and creatively.

    -        Ability to work in a self-directed/self-starting manner.

    -        Ability to perform well under pressure, multi-task and adhere to deadlines. 

    -        Strong management and mentor skills.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    -        Bachelor of Arts or Science in Accounting, Business Administration, or similar subject matter degree.  CPA desired but not required. 

    -        3-5+ years of experience within the accounting industry. Public accounting experience is preferable. 

    -        Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Suite.

    -        Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

    -        Ability to provide seamless support to supervisor, be self-motivated, work.   

    Independently and collaborate as part of a team to achieve business goals.

    -        Ability to prioritize and multi-task independently.

    -        Ability to be proactive in anticipating business and administrative needs.
