  • Responsibilities

    Job Summary:

    The Maintenance Technician will provide support the Chief Engineer and to the entire property. They will assist in maintaining the property. Position will be up to 29 hours per week. Person hired must be available to work weekends.

    Essential Functions:

    General maintenance ability in plumbing, electrical and drywall repair required. HVAC experience a plus, but not required.

    Completes preventative maintenance requests as assigned.

    Responsible for engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, hotel property, restaurant and grounds.

    Responds to engineering and maintenance concerns.

    Performs and/or monitors maintenance and preventative maintenance projects.

    Responds to all building related safety concerns.

    Maintains departmental compliance with hotel maintenance procedures.

    Supports hotel departmental maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly and monthly checklists.

    Assists in the supervision of temporary maintenance associates.

    Assist management in specifying proper supplies and equipment for operations.

    Deals with guest/tenant related concerns.

    Maintain the guest rooms, public space, and back of the hotel areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and tiling to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel and conference center.

    Must possess knowledgeable of basic hand/power tool operation.

    Clean and maintain pool area as well as pool water chemistry.

    Should have basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, flooring and carpentry concepts.

    Maintain appropriate supply inventory pars and communicate needs

    Effectively communicate with supervisor and Chief Engineer.

    Identify safety issues and address appropriately.

    Performs emergency calls to completion.

    Superior customer service.

    Must be energetic and a self-motivator.

    Effective and professional communication.

    Troubleshooting and problem solving skills are a must.

    Must have a basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, flooring and carpentry concepts.

    Electrical abilities such as replacing ballasts is highly preferred.

    Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

    Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

    Must be able to climb ladders as needed.

    Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time and able to walk up and down stairs.

    Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.

    Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

    1-2 years of Hotel maintenance experience.

    BMS/EMS experience highly preferred.
