    The Courtyard by Marriott OSU is seeking a Part Time Night Auditor. All applicants must have 3rd shift availability. The Night Auditor creates an experience for our hotel guests by offering them a larger than home experience with welcoming, helpful and exceptional service. This position is responsible for running the hotel and completing the necessary end-of-day tasks during third shift. The Night Auditor also organizes and directs all general accounting activities, maintains accounting systems that ensure the proper accounting and recording of company resources; provides financial statements, analysis, and other key management reports.

    Essential Functions:

    Complete the nightly audit and accounting process greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of hotel.

    Responsible for issuing room keys and important information to guests.

    Responsible for making hotel reservations and checking hotel availability.

    Verifies credit card authorization or collect cash payment for all hotel guests.

    Answer hotel main telephone line and transfer to proper departments or guest rooms.

    Review guest accounts and charges upon guest check-out.

    Be familiar with Courtyard by Marriott Brand standards and requirements such as Reward Programs.

    Be familiar with daily events in hotel, conference center, and restaurant.

    Constant contact with housekeeping and maintenance departments with guest issues or concerns.

    Ensure complete guest satisfaction.

    Ensuring daily checklists are completed.

    Completes any direct assignment from Manager.

    Responsible for issuing and signing out Department Manager keys.

    Post Banquet charges and make necessary accounts.

    Balance credit card and cash paperwork for entire day.

    Process credit cards for settlement.

    Close out day for facility and print reports.

    Service the Gallery Host Stand, Bakery Cafe, and Guest Kitchen

    Delivery of items to guests’ rooms

    Deliver guest folios

    Close and open swimming pool

    Investigate noise complaints

    Respond to engineering calls

    Complete property walks to ensure all aspects of property safety & security are in place

    Other duties as assigned by Management

    Directs, monitors, and evaluates the activities and performance of the accounts payable and general accounting staff.

    Monitors current department accounting systems and procedures and revises as required.

    Prepares required governmental reports and responds to inquiries.

    Reviews daily cash flow reports and analyzes as required.

    Administers preparation of monthly financial reporting and performs analysis.

    Supervises disbursements of company funds to terms and in line with company policy.

    Prepares financial reports as required by corporate headquarters for issuance to banks.

    Verifies support schedules to general ledger control accounts.

    Identifies additions or deletions to accounts in general ledger to improve control.

    Assures fixed asset physical control and accounting.

    Coordinates year endyear-end audit review for external audit staff.

    Keeps abreast of current trends, practices, and developments in the profession. Makes recommendations for implementation.

    Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time occasionally as directed.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

    B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance.

    Minimum of five (5) years' general accounting experience and two (2) years as a manager of an accounting department.

    Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

    Well developedWell-developed participatory management and administrative skills, with proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel.

    Well organized with strong analytical and reasoning abilities.

    Must have schedule flexibility for weekends and holidays.Strong computer skills.

    Mathematical and entry level accounting skills.

    Exceptional communication skills.

    Demonstrated excellence in guest service.

    Professional, courteous attitude.

    Ability to work in fast paced environment.

    Ability to multitask with limited supervision

    Previous hospitality/service industry experience preferred, but not necessary.

    Entry-level Accounting experience preferred, not required.

    Requires a strong command of the English language to include speaking, reading and writing.

    Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced position with guest interaction.

    Must be able to multi-task.

    Must be 21 years or older.

    A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.

    High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight (minimum of 20 lbs).

    Must possess basic computer skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
