HOTEL IS LOCATED IN PASADENA, TX Home2 Suites by Hilton Houston Pasadena is looking for a qualified and personable Hotel Maintenance Engineer candidate to fill a full time position. Responsible for maintaining the general condition of the property with regards to all aspects of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting work. Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis. Participate in the preventive maintenance program for all-building equipment and rooms. Complete other special projects assigned periodically by General Manager. . REPORTS TO: General Manager, Executive Suite Keeper WORK ENVIRONMENT: Engineering work shop, all areas of the hotel. Job involves working: Under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold). Under variable noise levels. Outdoors/indoors. Around fumes and/or odor hazards. Around chemicals. Using step ladders. QUALIFICATIONS Essential: 1. Minimum 1 year(s) experience as a commercial electrician. 2. Working knowledge of all electrical supplies and equipment. 3. Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal. 4. Working knowledge of: a) health codes b) electrical codes c) national/local fire codes d) local mechanical codes e) blue prints and wiring schematics f) power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades g) pool maintenance and cleaning 5. Provide legible communication and directions. 6. Compute math calculations. 7. Ability to: Interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property. Be well organized and follow instructions. Focus attention on details. Prioritize tasks and comply with deadlines for work assignments. Be a clear thinker and perform well under pressure work assignments.Work and perform job functions with minimal supervision. Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. 8. Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding. Desirable: 1. High school graduate or equivalent vocational training. 2. Fluency in job related English, both verbal and non-verbal. 3. Certification or completion of seminars for specialized training. 4. Ability to perform basic carpentry skills. PHYSICAL ABILITIES Essential: 1. Exert physical effort in transporting up to 50 pounds or more. 2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1.
