    We are looking for a Paralegal to join our team! We are seeking a paralegal with at least 5 years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm or in-house in a business / corporate setting. The person in this role will work closely with, and under the supervision of, our In-House Counsel and Director of Legal Affairs. This position requires an in-office presence at our company headquarters located in Orlando, Florida.

    We are looking for a candidate with a proactive and positive attitude, and the desire and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external business partners. A good fit for this position will also have keen attention to detail, be comfortable with and thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to be flexible and agile as we grow toward the future.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    The responsibilities of this position will include:

    ·        Draft, review and/or modify contract documents, including, but not limited to, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, Licensing (in-bound and out-bound) Agreements and Merchandise Agreements, under the supervision of In-House Counsel.

    ·        Management of the company’s trademark and patent portfolios, including performing status checks of trademarks and patents with the USPTO, and updating internal records regarding the same.

    ·        Review and coordinate the execution of various agreements entered into by the company and clients/vendors/contractors.

    ·        Manage the retention, documentation and recording of all pertinent files in appropriate computer locations.

    ·        Assist with the integration of newly acquired or organized entities, and coordinate annual business filings for corporate entities.

    ·        Provide support for researching, drafting, and updating processes, policies, and procedures.

    ·        Provide administrative support to In-House Counsel as needed.

    ·        Interact regularly with the Sales, Marketing, Operations and Technology Departments.

    ·        Stay current on new regulatory requirements and corporate best practices.

    ·        Perform special projects as assigned.

     REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must have experience in contract drafting.

    • Commercial/transaction experience required.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Required: Intermediate/Advanced skills in Word and Excel.

    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a face paced environment, multi-task and prioritize workload.

    • Be able to work independently, but also possess the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members in a positive manner.

    • Possess positive team energy and attention to detail.

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  

    • Experience in any of these areas is a plus: intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights and patents; creating and submitting applications for registration in connection with trademarks; knowledge of the hospitality and entertainment industries; and work with multi-national companies.

     

    REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have a bachelor’s degree or comparable experience, with at least 5 years of relevant experience working as a paralegal.

    • Certified and/or Registered Paralegal preferred.

    • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America.
