    The Holiday Inn Fargo seeks a candidate that is passionate about the hospitality industry and looking to take a step into a career position inside a Sales and Marketing department. This is a full-time, hourly position and is eligible for the quarterly bonus program. Job duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Assist in booking groups, functions and handle follow ups
    • Administrative duties such as typing, filing, packet making, file distribution, sending client invoices and other tasks as delegated
    • Be the liaison between clients and all hotel departments
    • Responsible for booking and detailing small (50 and under) catering events
    • Responsible from start to finish booking and execution of wedding receptions (heavy training provided before going solo if necessary)
    • Assist in handling new inquiries regarding sleeping rooms and or function space
    • Be proficient in hotel's sales and or catering software systems
    • Hands on promotional activities for clients including special in-house events, tradeshows and team outings
    • Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends when needed
    • Job shadowing for upward movement within hotel and management company

    Requirements

    • Must have working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook and Power Point
    • Must be organized and detail oriented
    • Must be confident to ‘ask for the sale’
    • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time

    Preference given to:

    • Associates degree or higher in hospitality management or business-related fields
    • Hotel, catering or sales experience helpful
    • Experience with Opera and Delphi systems a plus
    • Must be friendly, creative and energetic and above all, service oriented.
