LOCATION: Mission Store
885 Commercial Street NE, Salem, OR 97301
STATUS: Part-Time, up to 25 hours per week (Various shifts Monday – Saturday)
Job Summary:
Provide customer service; greet and assist customers with a pleasant shopping experience. Provide accurate, efficient and organized cashiering.
Essential Job Duties:
1 Provide cashiering as directed by team leader.
2 Greet and assist customers as needed.
3 Maintain a positive, encouraging Christian work atmosphere by demonstrating appropriate Customer Service.
4 Excellent – Seeks to improve performance while providing excellent service.
5 Display sorted and priced merchandise on the sales floor as determined by team leader.
6 Maintain display and general store appearance.
7 Keep a clean and organized work area.
8 Work well and in partnership with other store employees, volunteers, program men/women or
Community service workers assigned to your area as directed by the Store Manager.
9 Be trained and able to back-up/relieve production functions at the store.
10 Attend various Mission functions and meetings as required.
11 Assist with other duties as needed and as directed by the Mission Store Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1. Able to provide quality customer service with a pleasant attitude.
2. Basic math skills and able to operate cash register and properly handle money transactions.
3. Ability work with others in a team effort to provide quality products.
4. Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
5. Ability to work in a multi-task environment.
6. Must agree with Union Gospel Mission of Salem's Statement of Faith.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Previous retail experience is helpful.
