American Cruise Lines runs the newest fleet of cruise ships in the United States and is seeking Housekeeping Managers to maintain its high level of quality. Each guest’s experience is central to this position, and the highest level of service, cleanliness, and customization must be provided at all times.
As a Housekeeping Manager, you will lead, train, and supervise housekeepers in their daily responsibilities, while traveling around the country on one of our cruise ships. The cleanliness of the ship overall will be your responsibility and your team is there to help you accomplish that goal.
Managers typically work six weeks on board our ships and have two weeks off. Flexible schedules allow managers to live anywhere nationally and travel to each cruise ship for work. Travel arrangements to and from each ship are provided by the company.
This is an ideal introduction to hotel management for a recent graduate of a hospitality or business program. Housekeeping managers are the entry level managers on the cruise ship and can advance to other management levels in Food & Beverage or General Hotel Management.
Responsibilities:
Cleanliness of the ship, lounges, and guest rooms
Management and mentoring of the housekeepers
Daily inspection of room and public spaces
Attentive response to all guest requests
Training new housekeepers in company procedures
Maintaining a consistent product in accordance with company policies
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or Business field
Previous hotel experience is required, and management experience is preferred but not required.
Past hospitality internships are great experience.
