Overview of the Role The Equity Research Intern will work closely with a mentor or mentors to create financial models, industry research, company research, credit analysis and various special projects. Additionally, at the end of summer the intern will be responsible for pitching an investment idea to the equity research team. We will support you throughout the program with training from our experienced team. Training Offered * Modeling 101 * Management interview techniques * Presentation strategies * Product teach-ins Duties and Responsibilities * Build detailed financial models and price targets * Perform industry and company specific research * Present a pitch of an investment idea to equity research team Other Functions * Assumes additional duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities * None Technical Skills and Qualifications * Passionate about financial markets with an interest in investing * All candidates must currently be enrolled in a four-year university program * Coursework in accounting and investments preferred * Knowledge of Excel required * Must have analytical skills with the ability to accumulate, organize and assimilate large amounts of information and make informative insights * Excellent interpersonal, relationship building skills * Strong communication skills Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by: * Weekly meetings with mentor, periodic meetings with Director of Research * Final presentation and performance review Working Environment/Physical Activities * PC usage up to 100% of the time. * Office equipment such as telephone, copier, and fax machines, etc. Janus Henderson Investors (including its subsidiaries) will not maintain existing or sponsor new industry registrations or licenses where not supported by an employees job functions (as determined by Janus Henderson Investors at its sole discretion).
