    Apprentice Engineer - Facilities (ARIA) Location: Las Vegas, Nevada Become one of the stars behind the show and become part of the worlds most powerful entertainment brands. It is the primary responsibility to follow directions of the maintenance engineer to whom the apprentice is assigned to ensure all hands on training results in the maximum and mutual benefit to the company and employee. * Follow all safety rules at all times, using all PPE as required daily. * Maintain proactive attention to safety, including keeping work area clean and orderly. * Always inspect all equipment prior to use and report any discrepancies immediately. * Maintenance duties include machinery installation, machine repair, and physical structure repair work. * Have electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fabrication, welding, and strong equipment troubleshooting skills. * Have the ability to work with and read precision measuring devices, circuit diagrams and mechanical blueprints. * Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. * Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities. * Detect faulty operations, defective materials and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. * Identify and utilize required tools, special equipment. * Work with low and medium AC and DC voltages to include 12 to 480 VAC. * Read and understand blueprints, including understanding the specifications for all fixtures and furniture. * Maintain a property wide clean and safe work area. * Inventory all equipment and parts to ensure par levels are me. * Have an advanced understanding of emergency procedures throughout the facility. * Maintain a thorough understanding of hotel rules and regulations, including OSHA safety rules. * Maintain exceptional guest service in keeping with the predefined standards of the property, including personal appearance. * Aid guests with area locations of the facility. * Utilize communication devices in accordance with property and department standards. * Report all guest incidents and cooperate with security for a timely resolution. * Operate scissor and boom lifts and climb ladders to access elevated areas such as ceilings and catwalks. * Drive/Operate company vehicles .to and from various MGM Resorts properties. * Perform all other job related duties as requested. Required: * At least 21 years of age. * Previous experience working with industrial hand tools, power tools, testing and monitoring equipment. * Previous experience operating various equipment including forklifts, aerial lifts, scissor lifts. * Ability to follow written and oral instructions. * Ability to read and interpret precise measuring instruments. * Ability to be teachable, accurate, neat, flexible, manage time well, punctual, reliable and responsible. * Working knowledge of blue prints and wiring schematics. * Solid reading, writing, computer, and mathematics skills including decimals & fractions. * Excellent customer service skills. * Have interpersonal skill to deal effectively with all business contacts. * Professional appearance and demeanor. * Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
