  • Responsibilities
    1. I.       REPORTING STRUCTURE:

      Reports directly to designated MOD, Carrier, as applicable

      II.    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

      1. Safely and proficiently perform all duties assigned by MOD and Supervisor to provide services to the customer in the most efficient and professional manner including, but not limited to:
      • Perform Cargo Aircraft Weight& Balance via computer or manual way
      • Calculate and/or verify correct weights, destination/origination labesl/tags
      • Oversee flight plans, Graphic and Text Weather
      • Provides General Declaration and NOTOCs
      • In communication with USCBP / Agriculture for International flights
      • Acts as Ground Security Coordinator ie acft search
      • Coordinate aircraft parking and STA / STD with Carrier and Airport
      • Liaise for Ground Transportation & Carrier fueler and Catering
      • Knowledge in loading and unloading of aircraft, vehicles and freight/mail containers (ULD’s/APC’s, etc.).
      • Adheres to weight restrictions, contours, heights of ULD’s.
      • Current on IATA Certified CAT 6 Dangerous Goods / Hazmat Training
      • Build-up, break-down, and sort of freight, mail, and baggage, as applicable.
      • Safe and proper acceptance, handling and transfer of freight, mail and baggage, as applicable.
      • Ensure and verify security and integrity of all freight, mail and baggage, as applicable.
      • Provide proper marshalling signals for aircraft and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) operations, as directed.
      • Conduct proper two-way communications in English, using ground-to-ground and air-to-ground radios and telephones, as applicable.
      • Safe and proper operation of GSE and other equipment, as trained and certified.
      • Service and support of customer aircraft (cabin cleaning, lavatory/water service, deicing), as applicable.
      • Cleaning and servicing of GSE, ramp, warehouse, bathrooms, offices, and facilities, as directed
      • Safety and properly position and tow aircraft as trained and certified.
      1. Attend all meetings and complete all training and certification, as required by WFS, customer, airport, and all applicable government agencies. (Working usage of English required, appropriate to function)
      2. Adhere to all airport and facility regulations regarding proper security and identification procedures, including correct escort and security identification badge/challenge responsibilities.
      3. Comply with all safety regulations, methods, and procedures required by WFS, customers, airport, and all applicable government agencies.
      4. Adhere to WFS attendance requirements:
      • Report to work, on time and as scheduled.
      • “No Call – No Show” and arriving after scheduled time will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
      • All exceptions must be approved and documented by Supervisor.
      1. Adhere with WFS Uniform Policy with professional appearance at all times:
      • Comply with company approved clothing, proper footwear, personal protection equipment (hearing protection, safety vests, etc. – appropriate to function) and jewelry restrictions

       

      1. Advise MOD, Carrier, Supervisor immediately regarding ANY hazardous materials (HAZ-MAT) cargo and/or any irregularities (i.e.; spills, damaged items, pilferage, etc.).
      2. Comply with WFS policy for reporting injuries, incidents, damage and theft:
      • REPORT ALL injuries, incidents, damage, and/or theft IMMEDIATELY TO THE MOD, SUPERVISOR.
      • Disciplinary action, up to and including termination, for non-reporting of any of above
      • Required Safety Sensitive Drug & Alcohol Test performed upon each incident occurrence
      1. Comply with general position requirements, including, but not limited to:
      • Availability to work all shifts, including, but not limited to, mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
      • Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
      • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for the state in which the employee works.
     
    

    Required Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret WFS Employee Handbook, WFS Supervisors Manual, applicable union contract, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical, procedures, or governmental regulations, airline policy and procedures manuals.

     Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

     Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, and customers.

     Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

     Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

     Ability to operate equipment and hold necessary licensing (if applicable).

     Current IATA Dangerous Goods Training Certification is desirable.

     Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.

     Ability to perform specific responsibilities related to your shift.

      

     

    Required Experience

    Two to five years previous management/specialist supervisory experience in field service duties.  Independent judgment and decision-making skills required.  College degree or equivalent experience.  Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills.  Familiarity with personal computer software helpful.  Airline pricing experience.  Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off.  Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
