SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Plant Controller will lead the Foxtail Foods Accounting function in all aspects of the financial operations of the Brand. The Controller is responsible for accurate financial transactions in accordance with GAAP including but not limited to the preparation of financial information and reports, compilation and analysis for financial information, the integrity of revenue recognition, preparation of general ledger accounts, maintenance of subsidiary ledgers, corporate reporting, documentation and improvement of internal controls, and assistance in financial planning and analysis.

Reports directly to VP Manufacturing & Distribution with an indirect to Sr. Director Controller, Corporate
Responsible for supervision of the Foxtail Accounting team (Sr. Staff Accountant, Cost Accounting Analyst, and Accounting Clerk)
POSITION ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
Responsible for managing, reviewing and overseeing the accounting and reporting for
internal and external purposes.
Responsible for the oversight of the following functions for Foxtail:
Accounts receivable to include entry of invoices into US Foods and DOT Foods portals, assist with collection efforts as needed, managing vendor claims, application of receipts into X3, and maintenance of aging receivables and related bad debt adjustments
Accounts payable function to encompass PO’s, invoices and data entry into X3
Period close process involving journal entry preparation, financial statement review and general ledger account reconciliation and analysis
Provides cost audits and analysis and assists in the analysis, preparation, and presentation of financial reports and reports on periodic variances and their causes with focus on spend variances.
Provides analysis and reporting of overhead, materials and direct labor as well as customer and product margins.
Responsible for providing appropriate analysis to justify the annual plan.
Responsible for period and quarterly budgeting analysis and forecast preparation. Oversees the period close process for the Brand.
Provides new product costing and pricing for the Brand.
Coordinates physical inventory and cycle counts.
Updates standard costs and reviews actual costs. Accumulates and applies overhead costs as required by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Responsible for resolving complicated accounting and reporting issues
Develops financial business plans and forecasts.
Ensures that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with GAAP and monitors the use of all funds; as well as accumulating and applying overhead costs as required.
EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED
Bachelor’s Degree required; CPA designation preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
At least five years experience in a senior financial management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies. Previous cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment also required.
