    SUMMARY OF POSITION

    The Warehouse Manager plans, directs and oversees the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production shops, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. Responsible for the organization, scheduling of manpower and directing the warehouse on a day-to-day work plan.

    Directly supervises Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator, and Shipping Clerks

    POSITION ACTIVITIES AND TASKS

    Directs and overall day to day operations and activities of the Warehouse Department. Supervise all personnel and operations on the shift plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of warehouse and receiving clerks. Ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary. Develops crew leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned crew members.

    Maintains an equipment structure and level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in a safe, effective manner. Provides appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials. Researches material handling equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability and cost.

    Troubleshoots problems on the plant floor Maintains equipment structure and level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in a safe, effective manner.

    Provides appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials. Researches material handling equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability and cost.

    Monitors the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; and validates receiving reports are accurate. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.

    Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry. Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective and safe manner.

    Oversees the supplying of materials to fabrication and stages material for assembly and sub-assembly. Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.

    Monitors and measures receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy of locator, receiving reporting, movement and storage of material, and transfers to service parts.

    Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees within regulations of all OSHA, local and state regulations

    Comprehends, interprets and completes run sheets. Anticipates and requests funding for future personnel requirements, as well as, funding for future material handling equipment.

    Knowledge of ERP Systems and Implementations; as well as RF Scanning Systems

    EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED

    Associates degree required, Bachelor preferred

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    3 plus years of exempt level supervisory experience required; experience in a food manufacturing environment is required. Five or more years preferred.

    The ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced environment is essential; must be able to work flexible shifts as business needs dictate.

    Supervisory training required; management training preferred.

    Forklift/ Warehouse safety training required; Certification preferred.

    Certification in material handling, warehouse management, or other industry recognized related area is preferred.

    APICS certification preferred, but not mandatory.
