During the internship, the Marketing Intern will be exposed to the different marketing disciplines at Potbelly (Creative, Neighborhood, Integrated Marketing, Consumer Insights & Menu Development) through weekly team meetings, one-on-ones with Marketing Leaders, shop visits and industry best practice sessions. The Marketing Intern will work closely with the Integrated Marketing team and the Consumer Insight Team. IDENTIFY CUSTOMER INSIGHTS Project 1. Overview: Collaboratively work with menu development to assist in deploying and analyzing results from our menu research initiatives as we take new products from concept to launch. You'll work on concept surveys, consumer taste tests and product development tests. Collaboratively work with menu-development and research team to gain insights on food trends and to provide key insights to the cross- functional Menu team. * Participate in data analysis, project ideation and other activities to help build knowledge and expertise in market research process * Develop surveys, finalize data in an overview report and present findings to Menu Team * Facilitate consumer taste tests and finalize data and next steps for Menu Team * Conduct special projects as assigned to make direct contact within the food industry LOYALTY PROGRAM RESARCH Project 2 Overview: Potbelly recently launched a new loyalty program, Potbelly Perks. In an effort to ensure Potbelly Perks delivers a best in class program, the intern will research industry trends specific to loyalty programs. It will be important to understand key competitor programs in Fast Casual and Quick Service Restaurant Industry, as well as other industries such as retail, airlines, grocery stores, etc. The research collected will be used to provide a recommendation for enhancements to the Potbelly Perks program. * Research loyalty program trends and best practices * Provide detailed overview of loyalty programs of best in class brands and key competitors * Research Potbelly Perks and provide key insights on customer behavior and trends * Execute survey to Potbelly Perks members regarding types of perks of interest * Present topline summary and recommendations for Potbelly Perks to members of the Marketing Team RESEARCH RESTAURANT INDUSTRY TRENDS Project 3 Overview: Research menu, consumer, and industry trends.
