Job Description
The Safety and Security Manager manages and coordinates the activities of uniformed Safety and Security Officers and Supervisors actively engaged in the execution of the CFI, Inc. Security and Safety program.
Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Team Management: Recruit, screen, and lead a dedicated team focused on safety and security.
- Compliance Management: Implement and oversee government-mandated safety and security programs, including bloodborne pathogens and hazardous communications training.
- Record Management: Organize and maintain all department-generated records to ensure accessibility and compliance.
- Procedural Establishment: Establish daily procedures and responsibilities for Safety and Security personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Inspections and Audits: Conduct routine safety and security inspections and administer an ongoing safety inspection program to identify and address potential risks.
- Policy Development: Create and update policies and procedures to maintain a proactive and up-to-date risk management program.
- Investigations: Direct and conduct internal criminal and civil investigations, liaising with Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Personnel when necessary.
- Government Liaison: Act as a contact person and liaison to OSHA and other government health/safety organizations, ensuring compliance.
- Training Coordination: Coordinate and instruct team member health, safety, and security training programs in collaboration with the corporate division of risk management.
- Professional Development: Maintain membership in professional organizations relevant to the risk management profession to stay current with industry standards.
- Program Management: Manage interdepartmental Safety and security programs, revising and reorganizing them as necessary to enhance effectiveness.
- Corporate Representation: Act on behalf of the General Manager or any other corporate representative as directed.
- Task Force Coordination: Serve as a task force coordinator for events requiring specialized security services, such as dignitary protection or special events.
- Availability: Be on call and available to respond to incidents 24 hours a day, ensuring a swift and effective response to emergencies.
- Incident Management: Respond to critical incidents and assume control of incident scenes, taking charge when necessary.
- Disciplinary Actions: Administer progressive disciplinary actions to subordinate team members as required under the corporate policy.
