Job Description

The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, equipment, dishes, and utensils. This role supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring cooks and chefs have clean tools and workspaces. The Steward also assists with waste disposal, organization, and occasional basic prep tasks. This position is essential for maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant kitchen environment.

Duties:

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and equipment using dish machines and manual methods.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, drains, and stations.
• Empty trash, recycling, and compost containers regularly.
• Operate commercial dishwashers safely and efficiently.
• Restock clean plates, utensils, and cookware to proper stations.
• Support cooks with basic prep tasks as assigned.
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain proper chemical handling and PPE use.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Safety Training Card (Health Card).
• High school diploma or general education degree GED.
• The Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Follow instructions without close supervision.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Required to pass a background screen, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States.
