Job Summary The Host/Hostess is responsible for providing prompt, friendly, courteous, and efficient service to all restaurant guests while creating a memorable experience by greeting, escorting/directing guests, providing accurate information, and responding to inquiries, requests, and concerns. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: - Greet arriving guests and determine reservation or place guests on waiting list, when applicable. - Escort guests to their assigned table or direct them to designated waiting areas. - Present guests with menus, communicate server name, relay any relevant information, and remove any additional place settings. - Answer phone calls, take reservations, and respond to inquiries and requests. - Engage with guests to ensure they are satisfied with food and overall service. - Must be able to cross-train in other F&B related areas. Competencies includes: - Displays a high level of professional integrity and ethical conduct. - Maintain calmness and composure under high levels of pressure. - Adapt to frequent change, fast paced environment, delays, or unexpected events. - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. - Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills. - Ability to multitask and uses time efficiently and effectively. - Displays outstanding attendance. Essential Skills, Experience, and Education include: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of 1 year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Luxury hotel/fine dining experience preferred. High volume, fast-paced work environment experience preferred. Aloha experience is a plus. Open Table experience is a plus. Food Handler's card is required. Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) Certification is a plus. Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification is a plus. Proficient in English- verbal and written. Must have flexible work availability- all shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements include: Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, unless a medical or religious accommodation is requested.
