    Team Sheeper, Inc. is headquartered in Menlo Park, CA at Burgess Pool and operates pools in both Menlo Park and Palo Alto. Our Palo Alto site offers lap and open swimming,as well as seasonal swim lessons and summer camp, and in Menlo Park we offer swim lessons for children and adults, youth swim team, triathlete training, an aqua fit program, a masters swim program, and summer camp. We are looking for awesome people to join our Palo Alto & Menlo Park teams! Lifeguards can work as little as 10 hours per week or many as 30 hours per week.

    If you are not currently a certified lifeguard we can train you! You must be able to meet the requirements for taking lifeguard training which include swimming 300 yards continuously, treading water for 2 minutes, and retrieving a 10 lb. brick from the bottom of the pool.

    Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of the clients at the pool. The position requires interacting with clients, parents and their children, and the public. This includes problem-solving, providing information and guidance and top-notch, professional communication. Lifeguards should be able to work in a cooperative team environment. Position requires responsible, consistent, focused, hard-working, and attentive individuals.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility
    • Acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency
    • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
    • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service
    • Performs various maintenance and cleaning duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
    • Follows emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    • Current Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications preferred
    • Title 22 Certification preferred, but not required
    • Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously
    • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age by June 1, 2024
    • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time
    • Must be self-disciplined, responsible and alert
    • Assertive, courteous, and professional behavior
    • Must have excellent communication skills
    • Must be punctual
