    Job Description

    The Training & Systems Specialist leads the development and delivery of training programs that strengthen the knowledge and effectiveness of the Rental & Retail team. This role coordinates training initiatives, documents operational processes, and supports consistent execution across store locations. The position also serves as the primary liaison between Rental & Retail and key internal partners including Mountain Sales & Schools (MSS), Product Administration, Marketing, Sales, and IT Digital to support system updates and operational improvements. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

    • The budgeted salary range for this position is $58,500 to $74,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

    Essential Job Functions / Key Job Responsibilities

    • Lead department training initiatives to ensure store teams are knowledgeable and confident in rental and retail operational processes and systems
    • Develop, maintain, and update training materials, guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support consistent execution across store locations
    • Coordinate and deliver training for new hires, system updates, and operational process improvements
    • Identify training gaps and implement solutions that improve team performance and operational consistency across locations
    • Serve as the department’s primary point of contact for system-related initiatives involving Resort Technology Partners (RTP) and NetSuite
    • Partner with internal teams including IT, Product Administration, and Mountain Sales & Schools (MSS) to support system updates, improvements, and troubleshooting
    • Translate system updates and technical changes into clear operational guidance for store teams
    • Maintain accurate documentation of operational procedures and system processes to support training and operational consistency
    • Assist with the rollout and adoption of new tools, systems, and operational programs across store locations
    • Monitor system performance and gather feedback from stores to identify opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency
    • Communicate system updates, timelines, and operational changes to store teams and represent store needs during system discussions and project planning
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Education & Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred, high school diploma required
    • 3 years of retail experience, preferably within the Outdoor Industry, required
    • 2 years of training experience in multiple formats, including but not limited to, online, instructor-led, with varying audience sizes and levels of expertise of audience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Strong knowledge of computers and ability to grasp technical issues and systems
    • Knowledge of of NetSuite, RTP, Microsoft Excel, and SQL preferred
    • Ability to analyze large datasets and determine actionable results
    • Ability to maintain strong working relationship with store and warehouse operations
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration among various departments
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
    • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, use intuition and experience to complement data, and synthesizes complex or diverse information
    • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
    • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, changes approach or method to best fit the situation, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected event
    • Ability to assist in the continual education of staff with regards to operating standards, product knowledge, up-selling techniques, customer service excellence, computer software, and all current programs, policies, and mountain or departmental events
    • Ability to generate ideas and alternate means of creating revenue, reducing expenses or improving guest experience in departments as well as other areas of the company
    • Ability to manage projects with a high degree of independence

    Additional Information

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
    • Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
    • Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
