    Job Description

    Position Summary

    The Tune Technician is responsible for the precise tuning, waxing, and repair of skis and snowboards, including both rental equipment and guest-owned gear held overnight. This role ensures that all equipment meets performance and safety standards, directly supporting a high-quality guest experience on the mountain. Tune Technicians may also assist with the transfer of gear between resort locations to support operational needs. This position reports to the Tune Shop Manager.

    Applications for this position will be accepted until October 1, 2025 for the 2025-26 Winter Season.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Receive and sort incoming skis and snowboards according to established procedures and workflow
    • Tune, wax, and repair skis and snowboards using hand tools and machinery, including Wintersteiger equipment, as directed
    • Inspect all tuned equipment to ensure it meets quality and performance standards set by the Tune Shop Manager
    • Organize and stage finished equipment for timely and accurate delivery to designated locations
    • Perform end-of-shift cleaning and maintenance of tuning machines, benches, and tools to ensure proper function and safety
    • Complete nightly closing procedures and prepare the shop for the incoming shift
    • Pick, pack, and transfer rental, retail, and non-inventory product between internal and external locations as assigned
    • Fulfill restocking requests by selecting correct items, preparing equipment for transfer, and ensuring returned gear is received and re-racked
    • Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks, ensuring products are moved safely and efficiently
    • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, dock lifts, and rolling carts in a safe and controlled manner
    • Support overall logistics by helping coordinate timely equipment transfers across resort locations
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education & Experience Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Prior experience working with Wintersteiger equipment preferred
    • Prior certification in ski binding mounting, DIN settings, and torque testing preferred
    • Prior experience tuning skis or snowboards in a professional or high-volume environment preferred

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Knowledge of ski and snowboard construction, including materials and repair techniques such as epoxy application
    • Knowledge of tuning fundamentals including edging, base repair, stone grinding, and waxing
    • Understanding of tuning standards that ensure optimal equipment performance and guest safety
    • Familiarity with industry tools, tuning machinery, and safe handling procedures
    • Proficiency in following company policies, operational protocols, and safety standards
    • Skill in completing tuning and repair tasks with precision and efficiency under time constraints
    • Skill in communicating clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively during high-volume periods
    • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in workflow, equipment needs, or team direction
    • Ability to maintain consistent attention to detail when inspecting and preparing equipment
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality output
    • Ability to contribute to a team environment by supporting shared shop responsibilities and goals

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    • Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required
    • Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
    • Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
