The Customer Support Agent is the first level in a three level Customer Service series. Positions assist customers with transit and general information calls as well as process and respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and compliments. Typical duties include: providing information on buses and light rail, bus detours, fares, and lost and found items; assisting with trip planning; and, taking incident reports. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements Equivalent to High School Diploma and one year of related customer service or call center experience with providing information, responding and resolving customer inquiries or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as those listed above. Must be willing to work in a call center environment with heavy phone volume and data entry required. Must be willing to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. Must successfully complete a 6 week training program. Bi-lingual skills (Spanish) preferred; additional Bi-lingual Pay. Answers high-volume phones and responds to customer relations calls; provides information on bus and light rail schedules, trip planning, and general service information utilizing available resources, including bus books, map books, computer and other related information; enters complaints into the customer contact system. Sorts, assigns, and responds to customer e-mails. Receives, follows up, and processes complaints and commendations; researches and resolves problems with customers inquiring about the status of their complaint. Monitors location of buses and follows up on possible route detours or delays; tracks early/late buses; contacts and dispatches service to buses needing service. Assists riders with trip planning. Files customer contact information. Performs other duties of similar nature and level as assigned. Knowledge of: Customer service principles and practices. Modern office principles and practices. Phone etiquette. Skills in: Providing customer service. Operating modern office equipment (including good typing skills). Answering high-volume phone calls. Communicating in order to interact with co-workers, supervisor, and the general public at a level sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
