JOB SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Accountant position is responsible for the ongoing analysis of process performance, margin analysis and tracing costs back to the underlying activities. THIS POSITION REQUIRES A STRONG BACKGROUND IN COST ACCOUNTING IN A MANUFACTURING COMPANY. This position is responsible for the planning and compilation of the annual operating budget for the business unit in collaboration with the operations team. This position is also responsible for the month end closing process reporting on budget to actual and standard to actual variances then working with the operation to identify root causes and remedies. This position will work closely with the Vice President of Operations to support improved financial performance and continuous improvement activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare the financials in JD Edwards for the business unit for import into SAP.
• Monthly variance analysis against standard and budget for review with operating managers.
• Collaborate with operating managers to research and remedy variances.
• Plan, manage, compile and submit the annual operating and capital budgets for business unit.
• Work with operations to evaluate Capital Approval Requests and calculate the projected ROI, then measure the project’s effectiveness after implementation.
• Collaborate with the Accounting Operations Analyst on the annual standard update of materials, labor and overhead and the resulting cost roll.
• Become a backup for the item master, routing, bill of material and cost roll process.
• Continually evaluates current processes seeking areas for improved efficiencies and control.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 5-7 Years of Accounting Experience with month-end and year-end close responsibilities
• APICS certification and/or ERP experience a plus
• Experience in Manufacturing Required
• Experience in Consumer Products Industry a plus

• Highly Advanced Excel Skills
• SAP Business One Preferred
• SAP s/4HANA Preferred
• JD Edwards System Knowledge a Plus
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite

PAY RATE: Commensurate with experience
