Job Description

The goal of a new internship program for the Mortgage Servicing team is to help with normal operations for the department, develop leadership/mentorship skills in the analysts and leadership team, and to create a pipeline of candidates to fill any vacancies on the team. The intern would learn the different aspects of the business by way of the funding management processes, normal daily/weekly reporting, overview of the data warehouse, sit in on ad hoc projects, and learn what a “day in the life” would be like for each role. All reporting and analysis would be reviewed by an analyst/manager prior to anything distributed to a wider audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operational Reporting (Daily, Weekly, and EOM)
  • Corporate Key Stats Report
  • Agent Productivity Report
  • Issue Productivity Report
  • Daily Portfolio Performance Report
  • Mortgage Portfolio Statistics
• Tableau reporting
  • Create and maintain tableau-based reporting
• Funding Management Processes
  • Vena Funding Calendar & Selection Tableau updates
  • BBC & Servicer Reporting
• Data Analysis
  • Learn the data warehouse structure
  • Understand the end of month replication processes
  • Assist with testing as needed
• “Capstone” Project
  • Assigned an ad hoc project that could be worked on over the course of the program and then presented to upper management upon completion.
    • Examples:
      • Securitization Projections
      • Forecast of defaults/delinquency for the mortgage portfolio
      • Long term impacts of COVID on defaults, new loans, and deferrals
      • Creation of new data set for Digital Marketing, Sales, or Collections

Qualifications

The candidate will utilizing/building their skills in Excel, Tableau, MS Access, and SQL for developing/maintaining operational and financial reporting and analysis. Preferably, a data or finance specific field of study, and in their last year of graduate school.
