  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Safety and Security Manager will be responsible for all security aspects associated with the resort as well as, acting as an instrument of corporate policy in the execution of the CFI, Inc. and Westgate Resorts Risk Management, Safety, and Security Programs. Some responsibilities consist of:

    • Implementation and management of government mandated safety and security programs
    • Establish daily procedures and responsibilities for Safety & Security personnel
    • Direct and/or conduct internal criminal and civil investigations and act as a liaison to Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Personnel
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to keep senior leadership informed of all Security related activities within security as well as the ability to work with stakeholders to capture and execute duties related to their support
    • Coordinate subordinate team member recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, talent management, salary and recognition/disciplinary actions
    • Build effective teams and internal and external customer relationships through open and effective communications
    • Establish a collaborative culture with all departments
    • Oversee case management to ensure quality, timeliness, and correctness of incident analysis, escalation, response, and closure
    • Write detailed and accurate investigation reports
    • Review sensitive information handling processes and propose corrective measures to help prevent breaches
    • Establish a collaborative partnership with Law Enforcement
    • Respond to critical incidents and assume control of incident scenes
    • Conduct routine safety and security inspections and administer an on-going safety inspection program
    • Maintain membership in professional organizations relevant to the risk management profession
    • Manage any interdepartmental Safety & Security programs and revise and/or reorganize as necessary
    • Administer progressive disciplinary actions to subordinate team members as required under corporate policy

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage attentively and courteously with team members and guests at all levels
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work effectively in various outdoor weather conditions
    • Must be able to work any shift, (day or night), and be on call and available 24 hours
    • Experience briefing senior management staff
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
    • Must have proven success managing multiple projects with minimal guidance/supervision
    • Aptitude for a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Ability to work in self-directed and team environments
    • Ability to interact on a variety of personal and professional levels
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet strict deadlines
    • Possession of a Class D license
    • Certified by the American Red Cross, preferred
    • Proficiency in CPR, AED, and first aid techniques
