    Job Description

    The Human Resources Manager is a vital role at Westgate Vacation Villas Resort. You will have the opportunity to be more than just an human resources person; you will be part of creating a dynamic culture and work on a team that collaborates and has the desire to raise the bar. You will help oversee all Team Member Service’s functions.

    You will support the management of the Team Member Services (Human Resources) department and assists in overseeing benefits administration, employee relations, communication to departments and team members, career development of team members, wage & hour compliance, training, talent sourcing, and legal matters related to resort employees. This position reports to the Team Member Services Regional Director.

    As the Human Resources Manager you will:

    • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Team Member Services functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting’s are in compliance.
    • Keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and team member statistics for government reporting.
    • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and anti-discrimination/sexual harassment.
    • Advises management in appropriate resolution of team member relations issues.
    • Investigates team member complaints and recommends remedies.
    • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
    • Consults with business line management and administers salary administration to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
    • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, team member assistance, and related educational programs.
    • Administers leave programs including FMLA, Workers Compensation, etc.
    • Researches and gathers wage surveys/data within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
    • Prepares team member separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
    • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce turnover. Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.

    To perform this job successfully, you must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Additionally, the person must possess and adhere to the following core values:

    Requirements:

    • Ideal candidate will have 5+ years hospitality management experience
    • Must have experience in disciplinary actions and terminations
    • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws
    • FMLA/ADA experience
    • Minimum of 3 years of previous HR experience
    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Bilingual in English & Spanish
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to interact with all levels of team members and guests in an attentive and service-oriented manner
    • Must be able to lift, up to 15 pounds and work in outdoor weather conditions
