  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a Compliance Specialist- HMDA, this position reports to the Compliance Manager-Fair Lending. This position will serve as a part of a team that interprets rules and regulations to draft and implement policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day activities of Landmark’s Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) Program and assists in the development, maintenance, execution, and continual improvement of Landmark’s Fair Lending Program.

    1. Identifies all HMDA reportable loans/applications across all business lines and uploads the loans/applications to the HDMA LAR submission software.
    2. Verifies the required data elements for HMDA reportable loans/applications using the edit check reporting capability in the HDMA LAR submission software.
    3. Performs validation testing of all HMDA data points and makes corrections of any identified data integrity or data validity issues to ensure that the HMDA LARs are complete and accurate.
    4. Assists in preparing and submitting the yearly/quarterly HMDA LARs to the appropriate regulator.
    5. Maintains procedures on the end-to-end process of collecting, recording, and reporting on HMDA reportable loans/applications.
    6. Performs assigned tasks that support the implementation of the Fair Lending Program such conducting demographic and peer analysis and underwriting, pricing, marketing, and comparative file reviews.
    7. Assists with complaint resolution, including logging formal complaints, conducting research, preparing responses, and assisting with analysis and reporting of trends. 
    8. Serves as back up to the Quality Control Analyst in performing pre-funding and post-funding loan quality control reviews to ensure investor guidelines are met.
    9. Performs assigned tasks that support the development, implementation, maintenance, execution, and continual improvement of the Compliance Management Program (CMP).
    10. Works collaboratively with business units to successfully implement any procedural changes resulting from compliance observations, or findings. Proactively collects feedback to assess effectiveness of proposed changes.
    11. Implements and maintains procedures, workflows, job aids, templates, and forms, as assigned.
    12. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    1. High school diploma or GED and 3 years of banking experience in areas of loan origination, processing and/or closing, or an educational background that provides a level of knowledge typically gained from 3 years or more experience.
    2. Knowledge of financial operations, policies, and procedures.
    3. Knowledge of a variety of banking regulations, with a focus on ECOA/Regulation B, Fair Housing Act, HMDA/Regulation C, and UDAAP.
    4. Demonstrated experience balancing multiple priorities and managing a variety of projects in a high volume work environment with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
    5. Strong attention to detail and proven analytical, problem solving skills.
    6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the proven ability to work across various departments and levels in an organization.
    7. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
    8. CRCM Certification preferred.
    9. Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to the position. Must understand and comply with all job related state and federal laws and regulations.
