8,800 associates worldwide. Summary The Engineer, SharePoint will work
with the SharePoint team in the development and implementation of the
Enterprise wide SharePoint environment at Wyndham Worldwide. The
Engineer - SharePoint must be able to analyze the enterprise information
architecture, understand all client requirements and provide strategic
solutions. The candidate for this position will need advanced skills in
SharePoint 2010/2013/Online including security, site structure, portal
design, custom coding and web parts and database stores. The candidate
must also show proficiency in .Net programming for ongoing
development/enhancement of our enterprise SharePoint implementation.
This position will require good working knowledge of Windows Server
2008/2012, networking skills, Active Directory, as well as some basic
SQL skills including database creation, security, replication,
performance-tuning and maintenance. Responsibilities * SharePoint farm
Administration and production support * Analysis and design of cost
effective solutions based on business needs to drive business
efficiencies (includes technical and functional specification creation)
- Development, testing and implementation of new SharePoint solutions. *
Administration of SharePoint 2010/2013/Online environments including
services such as indexing, workflows, search and Excel services *
Rotational 24x7, on-call support responsibilities * Troubleshooting
errors in SharePoint 2010/2013/Online environments * Assist in the plan,
impact analysis, migration, remediation and implementation to SharePoint
Online * Troubleshooting errors in IIS * Maintain IIS application pools,
web sites * Ensuring maximum uptime and performance * Provide advanced
development and testing support * Basic administration (Creation of team
sites, adding users, custom data views, etc.) * Provide user support and
how-to * Testing and installation of new software, service packs,
cumulative updates * Maintaining documentation, including Governance,
coding standards, procedures and process definitions * Working closely
with Management, IT project managers, database administrators and
developers * Communicating regularly with technical, applications, and
operational staff, to ensure the database integrity and security *
Assess and approve all changes to the SharePoint environment * Ensure
appropriate auditing, quotas and usage information and search settings
are consistently maintained throughout the farm * Proactively assess and
optimize security and performance in all areas of the SharePoint farm
and across all servers * Deploy SSRS and Excel Services artifacts for
users * Create custom .Net or C# solutions for extending SharePoints
out-of-the-box functionality * Research and evaluate alternative
technical solutions and recommend the most efficient and cost-effective
application solutions * Work with other internal/external technical
teams in the development of detailed technical specifications, test
plans and implementation strategies * Adherence to SLDC through the
various lifecycle stages from business need through design and delivery,
ensuring that goals or objectives are met according to the business need
- Attend project-related meetings as needed * Communicate regularly with
management regarding the status of incidents and project initiatives *
Adherence to incident management process (includes, incident
creation/update/closure, RCA and action item follow-up) * Perform other
duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building and administering SharePoint
2010/2013/Online environments in high availability and high-performance
clusters * 2+ years of Object-Oriented programming using .Net, ASP.Net,
VB Net and C# programming languages Experience working in an Enterprise
development structure where applications are migrated from development,
to staging, to production * Experience integrating .NET applications
into SharePoint 2010/2013/Online * SQL Server setup and administration
to support SharePoint Farms Deep knowledge of the following: MS SQL
Server, IIS administration, XML, SQL Server Reporting Services
(including SharePoint integrated mode), InfoPath, MOSS Business Data
Catalog configuration, Excel Services, .Net application configuration
management, SharePoint Designer 2010/2013/Online * Working knowledge of
Azure/AWS Skills to install, configure, and support SharePoint Server,
Windows SharePoint Services and integrate related 3rd party
applications. * Well versed in web and database server management and
security issues. Candidate must possess knowledge in Load Balancing and
DNS as it relates to the installation and maintenance of SharePoint * BS
or MS in computer science or related Preferred Qualifications: *
Experience in design, development, deployment and maintenance of
Microsoft Content Management Server solutions and SharePoint Products &
Technologies * Knowledge and experience with SharePoint customization
using Site Definitions, SharePoint Templates and development of custom
web parts * Knowledgeable of the differences between areas, sites, site
collections, workspaces, web parts, document libraries, and lists as
they relate to SharePoint and CMS and know when and how to use them all
effectively. * Solid understanding of SharePoint and CMS site
administration and permissions structure Other Requirements: * Strong
written and verbal communication skills * Ability to meet tight
deadlines * Working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, and Project Unless
there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the
education requirement. Complexity This position will report directly to
the Technical Manager for Collaboration Services. Decisions will be made
collaboratively between these two. Decisions that impact the entire
environment will also be made in conjunction the Director of Shared
