The Care Coordinator I will be responsible for responding to callers from Orange County who seek mental health services and substance use treatment. Position Responsibilities: First line responders at a busy Call Center, providing guidance, support and information to the community, plan members, providers or other service agencies Verifies member eligibility for services through state and county information systems Enters relevant call notes and information in FlexCare Educates callers about specialty mental health services and substance abuse treatment offered through Orange County Mental Health Plan ASO Develop a basic knowledge of Levels of Care to ensure referral to the appropriate entity Provides community-based and other needed resources to members Coordinate with the team (Utilization Review Clinicians, Care Coordinator II) in accommodating members needs Consistently provides members, providers and internal staff with exceptional customer service Other duties as assigned Position Requirements: Education : Bachelors Degree in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, and/or Sociology) preferred and/or 2-3 years experience in Behavioral Health or other social services environment required. Licensure : No license required Relevant Work Experience: A minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in behavioral health or other social services environment required.
