Find your place at a company that cares. Description Summary This position applies knowledge of mathematics, probability and statistics in the area of health insurance. This position identifies issues, gathers and analyzes a wide variety of data and presents results and recommendations to management. May represent the department on corporate projects. Accountabilities 1) Assumes responsibility for portion of the department workload including retrieving and analyzing appropriate data and identifying issues to be researched. 2) Documentation of methods, procedures and results. 3) Assists senior actuarial positions in the development of mathematical models in connection with other departments to predict the impact of proposed changes. 4) Work with senior positions to understand and interpret the financial impact of decisions made by retrieving and analyzing claim costs, revenue and other relevant data. 5) Provide data and analysis to assist in evaluating the impact of proposed benefit, system or process changes. 6) Improve upon technical skills required for data retrieval and summarization. 7) Improve upon corporate business knowledge. 8) Other specific accountabilities as assigned by management Requirements -Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics or related field -Basic problem solving and analytical skills -Good oral and written communication skills -Strong PC skills, especially Excel -Some knowledge of programming or data retrieval packages, such as SAS or SQL -Works independently -Preferred candidate has passed at least one actuarial exam -Preferred candidate will be able to work part time during school year and full time during summer months Preferred Requirements -Previous experience helpful but not necessary.
