YOUR CHALLENGE!
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the HR Manager is tasked with helping to achieve the unit’s objectives by recruiting a skilled, engaged workforce. You will collaborate with the HR centres of expertise and shared services. You will actively participate in your unit’s Management Committee and clearly contribute to operational efficiency. Your efforts are aimed at organizing your unit’s work to limit operating expenses. You will also guide the managers and your colleagues and promote the company’s culture and values.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
ACCOUNTABLE
– Efficiently plan workforce requirements, including succession, in line with the investment and operating budgets.
– Establish the necessary training plan for employee development.
– Provide coaching to the supervisors in establishing objectives and compensation, reviewing performance and building a skills development plan for all employees.
– Oversee labor relations management and continuous improvement efforts.
– Apply the company policies and business processes.
RESPONSIBLE
– Offer managers coaching and support in managing employees and achieving business objectives.
– Make sure an SU is assigned for each process and certification.
– Ensure the SUs are trained and master the processes.
– Oversee training of incumbents of key positions for each business process.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Human resources
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree required; major in Industrial/Labor Relations, Human Resources Management
- A minimum of 10 years of prior Human Resources and Leadership experience is preferred
- Experience supporting front-line, field-based client groups is required;
- Practicing HR in a manufacturing or distribution center environment is preferred
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Must be self-motivated, able to function autonomously, well organized, rigorous, resourceful and efficient under pressure;
- Exemplary organization skills and the ability to prioritize/ manage multiple tasks;
- Ability to collaborate with others and to be a member of a team, while being respectful of other team members
- Knowledge of applicable labour laws and regulations including knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
- Solid understanding of Human Resources best practices and principles
- Must ensure activities are in compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, and FLSA
- Assists leadership in performance management and developing effective pipeline and succession plan
- Ability to understand the business operations from both a strategic and tactical perspective
- Design and execute staffing strategies for exempt/non-exempt hiring needs. Partner with local teams to ensure ongoing Outreach
- Assist in developing and executing site strategies to improve Organizational Health and culture
- Must be a confident communicator, (including both written and verbal skills) and must be able to effectively present to all levels of the organization
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items
- Previous talent management and succession planning experience preferred
- Proven ability to influence decision making
- Must possess executive presence
- Courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages with professionalism and poise
- Comfortable working in ambiguous business situations
- Strong expertise in developing solutions based upon facts/data analytics
- Must possess consultative style and approach with proven ability to develop credible relationships with business partners
