    THE SUCCESSFUL IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR . . .

    • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming calls, voice mails, emails, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related issues.
    • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
    • Installs troubleshoots and supports end-user hardware and peripherals.
    • Installs troubleshoots and supports application software's.
    • Troubleshoots and supports end-user network connectivity including application and Internet connectivity.
    • Utilizes IT Support Service Desk ticketing system to create, track and resolve all support issues.
    • Works with other groups in IT to support end-user connectivity to server and network infrastructure and applications.
    • Assist in monitoring server, network performance, security and IT Infrastructure.
    • Escalates support issues to appropriate group(s) for resolution.
    • Participates in on-call rotation in support of the production environment.
    • Serve as an escalation point to the helpdesk for server/network side related incidents.
    • Works closely with Desktop Engineer to ensure availability and optimum performance of systems; escalate to Manager when necessary.
    • Create and maintain good technical documentation.
    • Perform application software maintenance duties; install and test software application patches and upgrades.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    EDUCATION AND SPECIFICATIONS   

    • Current MCP and A+ certifications.
    • 2-3 years' experience working on a helpdesk or in a desktop support capacity supporting desktop applications, hardware, and peripherals.

     

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Excellent customer service orientation and ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively with end-users of various technical skill levels.
    • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customer's.
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities with concurrent deadlines.
    • Ability to function under fast-paced, stressful conditions.
    • Must have analytical skills that will allow interpretation of customer/user needs into practical solutions Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop OS and Microsoft Office.
    • Expert knowledge of typical end-user hardware, including Dell systems.
    • Good knowledge of Android and iOS phones, tablets, and other portable devices.
    • Familiar with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, and other Microsoft and non-Microsoft servers.

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    We require a good driving record and the ability to pass a drug screen.  Candidates must meet physical job requirements and safely perform the following job duties with or without accommodations:

    • You must pass a pre-employment drug test, and background check before beginning work.
    • You must speak clearly and effectively in English and dress in a manner suited to a professional office. A pleasant personality, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal positively with fellow employees, occasionally under stressful conditions, is a prime requisite.
    • You may be asked to operate a company vehicle. A copy of a valid California driver's license and a DMV printout must be on file at the branch before operating a company vehicle.
